I didn't notice that Schema markups were totally removed. Please add an option to add Schema markups for using simple hooks or whatever. I see GeneratePress and Astra like themes using those natively, so why MD had to ignore it?

Great question as removing Schema was an abrupt move on our part, though I can provide you backwards support if you found our specific implementation useful.

As the nature of Schema is so expansive, it is best to let a modern SEO plugin generate microdata for you. You will always have the best output and they use JSON microdata, which is superior to the inline approach MD used.

Yes, this is something we could have continued building, but is not a priority when the return on value it gives your site is marginal; most theme schema offers nothing of value to search engines that a structured HTML5 document does and a good SEO plugin can enhance.

Our SEO strategy is to create the best content system tools that help you publish fast, and keep your site running for a very long time!

I don't want MD to add all Schema metadata, most SEO plugins do it. I just want <article> tag to have CreativeWork Schema. Header to have WPHeader, Sidebar to have WPSideBar, footer to have WPFooter, and Navigation to have SiteNavigationElement. These are nowadays like the standard.

NO plugin can do these.

I think this is reasonable and I admittedly took an all or nothing approach. I will look more into this and have noted this for MD5.1.1.
