All New Personal Branding/insurance Site On Md3.1

The site is looking great Chris. Your anticipation is understandable, it's awesome work! I'm with Erica too, that yellow looks fresh! My only recommendation for you; maybe throw some smaller font-size values into your responsive CSS for post titles. Can't wait to watch it evolve, keep it up!
  3. Thank you both so much for the kind words. I really appreciate you taking the time to check out my site and give a little feedback. Because of that, I decided to write a few tutorials on the site to help you guys out with what you were asking about. I wrote two separate tuts: @Ray - You can find a tutorial for creating full-width Thesis Post Images here: Full Width Images Tutorial @Ray & @ Denis - You can find a tutorial for creating the Table of Contents box here: Table of Contents Tutorial I hope they can help you out! Again, thanks for the kind words, I truly appreciate them. Hope to hear from ya soon, -Tom
  4. I still have quite a bit of work to do but I have finished a majority of the overall design and functionality for Webpage Journey and decided to put it back online. Built with (the awesome) Marketers Delight 3 skin and a little elbow grease, and caffeine. Love any input/ideas you have for improvement. You can check out the site here: http://www.webpagejourney.com - -Cheers!

New Md2 Website For My Upcoming Plugin Launch

My friend, It sounds like you are working with the Marketers Delight 3 skin. WP Super Styles was built using the Marketers Delight 2 skin and Thesis version 1.8.5. The DIYThemes (Thesis) update from v1.8.5 to v2.0 was a complete rehaul of the way Thesis framework is used. In order to use the code above (as is) it would require the use of Marketers Delight 2 and Thesis v1.8.5. Sorry about that, I shoulda asked you which version of Thesis you were rockin. Personally, I am a bigger fan of Thesis 1.8.5 in some ways because I find the v2.0 framework to be more tedious with its endless tab-box settings.

Ahhhhh, I see what you are talking about now. Lemme help you out. To create the additional feature box, add the code below to your custom_functions.php file: You can use "if (is_page(array('...','...')))" add the feature box to whatever pages you like or you can use "if (is_home())" to add the box to your homepage only. // ADDITIONAL FEATURE BOX function second_feature_area() { if (is_page(array('pg#','pg#'))) { ?> <div class="feature_box_lead full_width feature_dark_home" id="lead_area"> <div class="page"> <div id="feature_box"> <div class="format_text"> <p style="ADD YOUR HTML STYLES HERE">THIS IS THE CONTENT YOU WILL WRITE TO SHOW UP IN YOUR NEW BOX</p> </div> </div> </div> </div> <?php } } add_action('thesis_hook_before_content_area','second_feature_area'); Now for the CSS to go along with it: Grab the code you find below and add it to your custom.css file. I just copied the colors, padding, & shadow from my site to give you an example. You can tweak things however you want them to look. .custom .feature_dark_home { background: #6C7177; padding: 15px 0 0; box-shadow: inset 0 3px 3px rgba(26, 30, 34, 0.2), inset 0 -3px 3px rgba(26, 30, 34, 0.2); -moz-box-shadow: inset 0 3px 3px rgba(26, 30, 34, 0.2), inset 0 -3px 3px rgba(26, 30, 34, 0.2); -webkit-box-shadow: inset 0 3px 3px rgba(26, 30, 34, 0.2), inset 0 -3px 3px rgba(26, 30, 34, 0.2); } This should work for ya. If there are any problems with the code lemme know, I will take a closer look but I think you should be fine. Thanks again for taking the time to check out my work and give me your comments & praise. It really means a lot to me. Best of luck with your work and lemme know if there is anything else you would like help with. -Tom

Thank you both so much for the kind words. I really appreciate you both taking the time to check out my work and leave your comments! @beepee - What exactly do you mean by the line below the header area? If you are referring to the way the header is broken up from the feature box, I did this by using inset shadow CSS, the code is below: .custom #header_area { background: none; box-shadow: inset 0px -3px 2px rgba(26, 30, 34, 0.2); -moz-box-shadow: inset 0px -3px 2px rgba(26, 30, 34, 0.2); -webkit-box-shadow: inset 0px -3px 2px rgba(26, 30, 34, 0.2); } If you have any other questions, comments or concerns, don't hesitate to message me or leave a comment!
  8. Still a bit of a work in progress but my new site is: WordPress Super Styles Plugin This site was built on MD2 for my upcoming WordPress plugin launch. The plugin is called WP Super Styles and it allows users to create custom graphic styles (buttons, boxes, testimonials, icon lists), email opt-in forms, custom sales pages & custom squeeze pages. I am still working on creating some of the documentation & support pages but I will have the website open and the plugin available for a short time (at a discount price of $17) while I finish the my last steps. Been working hard on this and I would love any input you all may have or recommendations to make the site better.

Goingup Social - Marketing Consultancy On Md2

Hey man, I'm pretty sure if you activate the javascript library on your homepage the "enter your email" will disappear when you click it. I don't know if you want that or not but I figured I would let you know.

Dan, I agree with you 100% about using a contrasting color combination, I even like the green buttons. I think it's just the shade of green that bothers me. The buttons look good, I just tend to have OCD and it sucks because it can be very counterproductive lol. I think a few shades towards blue/green might mesh/contrast well. Either way, your site looks great. -Tom

Goingup Social - Marketing Consultancy On Md2

Hey Dan, You definitely make me feel like I need to step it up as a human being lol, great story man. It's hilarious that you created your first website with Wix because I did the same thing! Looking back I laugh at myself because of how amazing I thought the flash websites were. I found my way to WordPress and never looked back. Big-ups to Alex for being a Thesis-G and creating the Kolakube skins. Your site looks great. I love the color combination and your logo is awesome. The social icons in the header are a nice touch as well. For some reason the only thing bothering me is the green buttons. I think they might look better in a different color. I also like the break-up of your blog layout. The white background of your sidebar meshes really well with your post boxes. Job well done my friend, keep up the good work! -Tom
  12. Hey Ngee, Thank you so much for checking out my site and giving feedback. I am going to work on the footer and adding a nice optin form to my about section at the top of my sidebar. You will get the hang of changing colors and anything else you want to customize with time and practice. I recommend you check out two resources. The first is a post written by Alex on Blogussion and the second is about customizing your custiom.css file. 4 Ways to Customize Your Thesis Theme (By Alex) Customizing your thesis custom.css file Thanks again! -Tom
  13. Bret, Thank you so much for the kind words and advice. I definitely agree with you about letting your content shine thorough, especially in the blogging/internet marketing niche where readers often understand the concepts of banner advertising themselves so they MUST be convinced before clicking anything. I will try using an op-in form on my about page and see how conversions go. Thank you again for the advice! -Tom p.s. Madison is an awesome place, I live in Minnesota and visit friends in school there once and awhile.
  14. I have started working with the MD2 skin and I have to say, Alex - you are the man. Huge inspiration. Webpage Journey is my blog to post the cool stuff I learn while I pursue my entrepreneurial dream. I have a ton of work left before I will be satisfied but the MD2 skin has made life A LOT easier. Thanks Alex! -Tom
